Apple Mac Address Book SEARCH does not work anymore

Apple Address Book Search Fix

Recently my Address Book on my iMac computer started acting strange. Every time I tried to search for a contact the search would not respond so I tried a few things and below are two options for you to try. I hope this helps as I know this was frustrating to me, but as usual there is always a way to fix it.

Mac Address Book Search Field Fix 1

Open System Preferences -> iCloud -> uncheck Contacts then it will prompt if you want to keep or delete your contacts (I chose Keep Contacts) wait a few seconds and then turn it back on. -> This worked for me, and it should work for you.

Mac Address Book Search Field Fix 2

Try deleting the cache associated with the Address Book.

Go to   ~/Library/Caches/

For Lion v10.7x:  To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Now see if you can search your contacts.

I hope this helped please leave a comment below to let me know if this worked or if you have a better suggestion for others if this does not do the trick. Thank you for visiting

Apple Time Capsule What a Big Disappointment

Apple Time Capsule

I purchased the Apple Time Capsule on August 26th 2011 at Best Buy for $315.70 and it is not performing at all to my expectations. Every time I look at the status bar it has some kind of error, and then it says it can not complete the backup. I purchased the Apple Time Capsule because it had a lot of hard drive space, and it was a wireless router with wireless back up options, well this is not the case every time it tries to backup using the wireless option it gives me an error, so I have to get a 25 foot long Ethernet cable to plug in to my iMac computer, which is in my living room to make my backups to my Apple Time Capsule which is in my office, now this is not only a huge inconvenience, but after I plug in my iMac to the Time Capsule using this 25 foot long ethernet cable I end up getting an error message that says ” TIME MACHINE COMPLETED A VERIFICATION OF YOUR BACKUPS. TO IMPROVE RELIABILITY, TIME MACHINE MUST CREATE A NEW BACKUP FOR YOU. Click start New Backup to create a new backup. this will remove your existing backup history. Click Back Up Later to be reminded tomorrow. Time Machine won’t perform backups during this time.” Now correct me if I am wrong but doesn’t this defeat the purpose of the Apple Time Machine, because if I am completely wiping out the backup to replace it with a new backup then how is this giving me the option to restore a file that I had a few days or a week ago if I decided I needed that file? I am very disappointed in Apple, and all though I am a huge fan of Apple products I would have to say that this really needs to get a fix fast. I would not recommend buying the Apple Time Machine to anyone who does not want to deal with a lot of head aches. I am not sure if it works good if it is plugged in via the ethernet cable, but as for the wireless back up it is a complete waste of time, money and energy. I am actually going to take it back to Bestbuy tomorrow and get an external drive that I can just plug in to my iMac.

Here are some snap shots of the errors I got the night I decided to finally write this article.
